FLUTE

Born in Altea (Spain), Júlia Gállego graduated at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with flute teachers Alain Marion, Raymond Guiot, Sophie Cherrier, Vincent Lucas and chamber music teachers Maurice Bourgue and Pierre Laurent Aimard. Awarded with First Prize and Audience Prize at the ARD Competition with the Miró Ensemble in 2001 and First Prize at the Montserrat Alavedra chamber music competition with Haizea wind quintet in 1994.

As a chamber musician, Júlia works regularly with musicians such as Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Isabelle Faust, Pascal Moragues, Reto Bieri, Meesun Hong Coleman, Thomas Kaufmann, Joonas Ahonen, Gordan Nikolic, David Quiggle, Alba Ventura amongst others. She has also performed with ensembles and orchestras like RCO Amsterdam (Prinsengracht Concert 2019 with Pekka Kuusisto), ]W[ Ensemble , ensemble 0, Ensemble Les Dissonances, Camerata Bern.

Member of the MCO since year 2005, Júlia is also a cofounder member and flutist of BandART orchestra with Gordan Nikolic. Since 2006 Julia is a flute and chamber music teacher at the E.S.M.U.C. and at the Conservatori Superior de Música del LICEU, both in Barcelona. 

Mother of Mario and Sofia, Julia is also a Kundalini Yoga Instructor and creator of the holistic program for musicians ‘SomaKardiaEnergeia in Harmonia’.
