Eva Alvarez
DIRECTOR, MANAGEMENT, FLUTE
I grew up in northern Spain and studied flute and cultural management at the Barcelona University and the Oviedo, Helsinki and Vienna conservatories. Along the way, I discovered that what I loved most was not only performing but also creating - and helping others create - meaningful artistic projects.
For the past ten years, I’ve worked internationally in the arts, culture and education sectors, teaching music, playing in orchestras and collaborating with artists and cultural organisations. Through my studies in sustainable, accessible and inclusive cultural management, I gained a deep understanding of the real needs of the music and cultural sectors.
Yoga and meditation are a vital part of my daily life. I have been practising for over eight years with international teachers, embracing their many physical and mental benefits and sharing them with other musicians. Currently, I research effective study methodologies for adult flutists, along with the impact of musical organisations in rural Europe.
